Boys Varsity Basketball – Coach Keith Wright

Coach Keith Wright is entering his 5th year coaching basketball in Seminole County, His second season as Varsity Head Coach at Crooms Academy.  Coach Wright started his basketball coaching career as an assistant coach for Lake Mary High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team. There he incorporated a new physical fitness and strength training regimen for the girls’ basketball program designed to develop player agility and conditioning.

In his second year, he took over the Head Coaching position for the Girls JV team. In his 2 years as the JV coach he accumulated a record of 25 – 5, while helping lead the varsity to a District Championship in the 2017-2018 season. Coach Wright has brought his strong work ethic and high expectations with him and in his first year helped bring a winning attitude back to the Panthers locker room.

Coach Wright is a military veteran who was born and raised in the city of Sanford, attended Kaplan University while he was enlisted in the United States Army where he graduated with a bachelor’s in Health and Wellness. He later finished two masters’ degrees in psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University and Applied Behavior Analysis from Capella University. Coach Wright participates in community non-profit organizations such as No Limit Health and Education as a Health Ambassador, Mission Continues as a Service Member Volunteer and The Young Men of Excellence. He has been a worked as a fitness trainer, leading group and individual training sessions in Central Florida as well as coaching youth basketball at the YMCA in Lake Mary.

JV Coach:

Anyone interested in participating in basketball will need go to https://athleticclearance.com and complete the clearance procedures, prior to conditioning, tryouts, practices, and or games. Clearance processes can be found on the Crooms website under the Athletics tab. Boys’ basketball practices are scheduled daily after school on campus. The team will either practice immediately after school or later, student athletes are encouraged to use this time to do homework and attend tutoring sessions as needed. Parents will need to arrange transportation to and from practices, unless using the district activity bus. There are times in which parents may need to provide transportation for their child to and from games. If you need any further information please feel free to contact Coach Wright.
